How to Promote Your Business Using Facebook Live

by Stuart McHenry December 20, 2016

Social media is constantly evolving allowing businesses to use it to their advantage. One of the most useful and most current ways is with Facebook Live. This feature allows you to record yourself or your business activities and post them live. Of course, this involves a little bit of risk since you cannot go back and re-record, but it adds incredible value to your business. Viewers love video over written content and they are more likely to remember the occurrence when it is live.

Live Q&A Allows Interaction

Facebook Live makes it possible to interact with your target audience all at once. You don’t have to reply to comment after comment in written format this way. Viewers can type in questions and you receive them while you are live. This allows you to answer questions “on the fly.” It also allows for further interaction on any given topic. As an added bonus, everyone watching gets to hear the answers, possibly answering questions others had but did not ask. This gives your target audience a true feeling of the people behind your business. As your viewers “like” or comment on your video, other people in their network may see it and join in the fun too.

Promote Live Events

Facebook Live makes it easy to build up excitement about an upcoming event. Whether you have a big sale, a Customer Appreciation party, or a pre-release event, you can make a big deal out of it by going live. Give your viewer’s teasers leading up to the announcement in regular Facebook posts first, though. During the few weeks leading up to the event, give little hints. This will elicit excitement so you get more viewers when you go live.

Address Common Questions

Every business has common questions potential or current customers ask. You should have an FAQ page on your website, but not everyone reads them. Honestly, most people skim through written content. If you have a few questions that come up repeatedly, go live and answer them. This shows your current and potential customers how much you care about them. It also allows you to dispel myths and gain more attraction to your business.

Interview Live

Are there key people in your business your audience would love to know more about? Interview them on Facebook Live! This gives your audience the feeling that they are an “insider” to your business. They will listen intently to your interview and feel closer to your business. This is a great way to build up your brand, making people more loyal to your business as it is much more personal than a written interview. Choose key personnel or “hidden” people in your business to make your customers feel like they are special.

Share your Live Events

If you have a live event going on, share it with your audience. Let them see what they are missing. This will encourage them to follow you more intently and see what events you have to offer. You don’t even have to put yourself on the video; you can record the event, using your voice as a narrator describing the event for your viewers.

Social media opens up many opportunities for businesses. Today it is not enough to have a Facebook page; you need to interact with your audience in a way that makes your business stand out. Facebook Live is fairly new but offers businesses an incredible opportunity to interact with their target audience. It also offers the chance to gain new followers, increasing your loyalty, and enhancing your business.
