McKremie Volunteer Paid Time Off Policy (VPTO)

In an effort to encourage our employees to give back to the communities we live in, and to support charitable organization, I’m announcing our new Volunteer Paid Time Off Policy. We are a small growing company but feel it’s important to give back.

McKremie will pay all full-time employees up to 40 hours per year to volunteer at a charitable organization or school within the community. McKremie will generally recognize charitable 501(c)(3) organization and educational establishments that are recognized by the state of California for service in our Volunteer Paid Time Off Policy.

I’ve been volunteering with nonprofits all the way back to my teens. In 2009 and 2010 I personally volunteered over 200 hours per year at a nonprofit organization in Redlands, CA. I want to keep giving back and I want McKremie to be known as socially responsible company. Plus the bottom line is it just feels good to give back.

To kick off our VPTO Policy the team at McKremie will decide and plan which organization we will help first. We will be sure to follow-up here on our blog so other can see our efforts. Maybe we will encourage other marketing companies that currently don’t have a VPTO Policy to instate one.

    Great to read this. I came across you post when searching for “manage vpto”. We’re an interactive marketing agency based in San Diego. We’re looking at creating a VPTO program. If you don’t mind my asking, is there a program you use for managing VPTO requests and tracking? We’d prefer to avoid making it a manual process. Ideally it would integrate with our current time management/PTO system. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
